James Morrison: Broken Strings Meaning
Broken Strings Lyrics
For the last time
It's the last chance to feel again
But you broke me
Now I can't feel anything
When I love you
It's so untrue
I can't even convince myself
When I'm speaking
It's the voice of someone else
Whoa it tears...

It's about a beautiful older women who fell in love with a guy half her age.. She was lead to believe he was laughing at her behind her back, saying the relationship was nothing like a but a bit of fun.. She loses the plot and belittling him with the cruelty of words to break him.. He then hates her and calls her a psychopath.. When the truth is wes and lydia stepped in said untruths to break them up and lydia got wes to vandalise their cars.. The truth hurts...

Its about a dying relationship, they both mutually agree that the relationship is just not what it used to be. Therefore they admits that they love each other “a little less that before”. Its like a song saying “I think we need to break up”, they both realise they aren’t in love anymore, although there is still love present between them just not within each other.

Yes,ofcourse this is a break up song with a deeper meaning. They are meeting for the last time and giving reasons why it did'nt work."Oh, the truth hurts and lies worse
How can I give anymore?" This line suggests that most probably someone has cheated in the relation and that is why the other is broken and asks'not to play on his broken strings'. Concept is simple, the guy is going away but as a lover his heart is not allowing him to go,he wants to stay but the hurt is so much that it is not possible for him.The other person has used him enough and so he wants to part his ways even against his will.
