A Life of Illusion Lyrics
-
Ok, only Joe knows the true meaning of this song. However, it is one of my favorites and I have pondered it many times. Life is an illusion in the sense that it is what you perceive. In a deeper sense, I ask "What is reality and what is illusion"? We go through this life, good or bad, and we experience all these things we have little or no control over. We constantly try to find solutions to some problems which have no solution. In which case, believing we have solutions is an illusion in and of itself. "...just another hunch based upon jumping conclusions..." (Mr. Joe Walsh). "Oh how nature loves her little surprises".. another example.
Also ask yourself what is reality? What we are doing today? What we are seeing with our physical eyes? Is this life reality at all? Perhaps not. We stop by in this life and we live, learn, and grow through some series of circumstances. What if this life IS an illusion and what happens next is reality? Joe wrote a hell of a good song and performed it in a most fantastic way. IF you really listen to it, it will make you think.
