John Waite: Going to the Top Meaning

Going to the Top Lyrics
-
About the meaning of the song, it's kind of similar with the interpretation. Possibly she is an actress who had an affair with her co-star. She often walks away. She is used with the limelight. Perhaps she was rich before she became a star or she became rich. She met another guy and she fell in love with him. I think the lyrics explained it all. Her co-star felt betrayed by her but he still wishes her well with regards to her personal life and career life. Hoping your heart will not be broken anymore. That's good you are still in love with him or her. But if he/she moved on, I think you have to move on too. Peace man or woman.

John Waite song is not a beautiful lyrics. But I agree it has a beautiful melody. About the interpretation, if you check the youtube. It's a musical melody about a singer or a dancer who performs a lot. She feels going to the top because everyone watches her and she will be famous. To be continued..

Girlfriend leaves him, looking for better, finds someone else, still wishing her well, she never found what she was looking for, then she dies and goes to heaven -,going to the top. Still thinking of her a lot in heaven. Heart will never stop (in heaven) & going to the top.
John Waite this should've been a top hit, then and now. Beautiful lyrics and melody! Please tell your interpretation and meaning to song! That would be awesome before I die! Thank you!
broken hearted 13 years & still in love.
