Jonathan McReynolds: Cycles Meaning
Song Released: 2018
Cycles Lyrics
Tell me what I missed 'cause I fear
That it's coming back up again
Must be something I ate
Some song, some show, some hate
The devil wants to extend the game, free throws
And when it ends he wants to make...
-
My interpretation of cycles is seen from an individual's background. It could potentially be referred to something(sin) he/she has committed in their life that becomes continous or repetitive.A cycle!
And this song is basically referring to the cycle and asking God to break it...
'for there is POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS to break every CYCLE!!!!'
Hallelujah!!!! -
Sometimes we (Christians) keep struggling with the same sins or sin patterns, because we let the devil trip is up with the same thing. We fail to realise that our actions are the cause and that until we change them, we will never be free. (Heb 12:1-2)
The good news in verse 2 though, is that, through God and the powerful working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we are able to realise this and change our behaviour, enabling us to alter our actions to God's will and be free.
He gives us the strength through His Name (Jesus).
