Song Released: 2002
Picture Lyrics
Livin' my life in a slow hell
Different girl every night at the hotel
I ain't seen the sun shine in 3 damn days
Been fuelin' up on cocaine and whisky
Wish I had a good girl to miss me
Lord I wonder if I'll ever change my ways
I...

#1 top rated interpretation:It's a relationship story told from both points of view. It hurts both of them to look at the picture of the other one, so they put them away and out of sight so the reminder is gone and hopefully they can move on with their lives. They both handle things differently and are separated for a long time, but ultimately realize they still have chemistry there or they are no longer heartbroken when they are reunited some time later, hence the line "I found your picture today". They have come to a place where they are comfortable looking at the other person and there is no longer a constant negative reminder by looking at the image of the other person.
This song really hits home with me. My girlfriend of three years and I had just broke up when this song came out. It was so difficult for me to see her picture or anything that reminded me of her. For what seemed like forever, I would find stuff of hers at my place and it brought back all those painful emotions. I was in a really bad place in my life, and I tried to bury my sorrows through destructive means. She was finding comfort with her family, church, and friends; but I became withdrawn from my family and friends, and was lonely and miserable. The actual use of the word "picture" sunk in deep because one of the things of mine that she treasured above any of the jewelry or gifts I gave her was my picture of me taken as an infant. She asked to keep it at her place to remind her of me when I wasn't there. This was the only picture I have of me as a small child because the rest were destroyed, so it was kind of an important keepsake from my childhood. Anyways, I never got it back and we still have not spoken since the breakup. I have no idea where she is or what she is doing, and I still wonder if she has my picture and if she has put it away. -

#2 top rated interpretation:I think when he say's "I can't look at you while I'm lying next to her" it is representative of addiction to booze/drugs and when she says "I called you last night at the hotel, everyone knows but they won't tell." It speaks to him indulging in his addiction. Also when she say's, "I can't look at you while I'm lying next to him." The "him" doesn't represent a man, but more god/jesus a cleaner lifestyle.

I love this song it has some country and some pop vibe on the song and so me and big time rush are shooting the show near Nashville but we will still visit my aunt and my uncle for their holidays but my parents are heading to Tennessee with my brother but big time rush is going to Nashville with me to record our music but we’re singing with couple people. Like Carrie Underwood, lady antebellum, Kelsea ballerini, keith urban.

The song isn't written by RJ Ritchie and Sheryl Crow, M
kid rock wrote it only -
I wanted do something that had the album between those albums like Jonas la, but it’s different. We’re going to travel all around the world and do some songs different cities. It’s like a summer vacation. We’re getting on their tour bus, and spend time together. Then he’ll write lyrics online to make everything perfect.

I just wanna know, if the song has a story behind it. Why kid wrote it? There's always a story behind any singers songs, so, anybody know?

this song helped me through my divorce 2 years ago. i made me realize i wasnt alone. my ex husband left me for a younger lady andy kids and i just.packed up and moved. since we have facbook now adays looking at his page devasted me but i kept moving forward. recently i found out that after a few month of being with new girlfriend he was regretful and had a hard time looking out pictures. we were married a solid 8 years. and my ex suffered an alcohol addiction which also added to our seperation as wellso this hits so close to home.

Sad hearts. They love each other, and are acting in ways to move past their hurt. But love doesn't just go away.

I think this song is about two neighbors having a long term affair. The male neighbor, Kid Rock, has been sleeping with Sheryl Crow's character while she is married to his best friend. Kid Rock had been the best man in the wedding, hence why she has a picture of him on her bedside table. People are starting to figure out their affair, so he goes to stay in a hotel for awhile to let things blow over. He tries sleeping with various girls (probably prostitutes- Kid Rock doesn't have that much game) to get over her, while she's still lying at home with her husband.
Then there's a time skip. He's moved to a different town, but is stopping by to visit possibly old friends or family. They run into each other on the street - she's with her husband, his former best friend. An "old friend," even. They begin to become obsessed with each other again as the song ends, never to be together. -
I've felt like a bull God from shrooms and acid before. This song is about tripping

I had a love life before it was wonderful then it turn out to be the worst nightmare I ever had I give more than anything if I could put my first love' s picture away I can't do that I wish I could it hurts to much he was my life I wish I could not have a broken heart this is my interpretation

It's song about two people that really love each other, but life has torn them apart. They are now with someone else and still think of their true love, so they must move heaven and earth to reunite once and for all. I know cause I'm living tis song.
-
I think it's about a couple that breaks up. Both try to forget about each other but still have their pictures. While in bed with other people, they face the picture down because "I can't look at you while I;m lying next to her/him. Then after realizing this is wrong, they both want to go back to each other. "I just called to say I love you. Come back home." This is just my interpretation, so I'm not saying it's right.
-
I think it's two love stories in one. It's a really good song, and the title Picture fits it perfectly.
-
Break-up song about a couple who want to get back together but he can't change his bad ways. And she's basically looking for him and waiting for him to change. They can't see each other's picture because it hurts them too much to know that they should be together but obstacles stand between them.
-
About a couple who is having a long distance relationship or one of the couples had to move away. So the only thing that they feel can keep them close together is a picture of them. They can look at that picture anytime they want when they are lonely.
