    I think it's about how his girlfriend committed suicide and he misses her.
    "When you said your last goodbye", and "If I could see your face once more" seems like he wants to see her, but he can't because she killed herself.

    The song i believe has something to do with suicide, or maybe someone killing someone else, one or the two. Anyway, Kodaline mentioned die and died a lot so that’s where my interpretation comes in.

    I believe it can be interpreted as two ways either as a death or a loved one.

    sometimes when you lose a loved one you can get almost annoyed at them “why’d you leave me?”
    Also an indicator for me that it’s about death is the fact he acts like he will never be able to see them again and would do anything possible to see them again.

    However, after a breakup it can be very similar to them dying if you completely cut off contact with your partner as it will feel like you’ve lost a large piece of your life.
    Also, the line “when you said your last goodbye, i died a little inside” could show that large part of their life they have lost. And the line “you brought out the best of me” can show how you can grow completely and become a different person because of them and now they feel like they have lost that part of them self or lost their old self because of the relationship.
    I believe it is a beautiful and simple song which means it can be left to interpretation so each listener can listen to the song in anyway they want.

    Your guys love was too good to be true and no matter how much you loved that person and how much they loved you it was never bound to work out in the end and you miss them so much but deep down you know they aren’t coming back but you still have hope that maybe one day your guys souls will meet again and work out this time.

    I think its about heartbreak. The feeling when someone breaks up with you and you want nothing more than to just see them and be with them again because you miss them so much. It is all you can think about and you end up longing for it so greatly that you theres nothing else you want in the world. It's looking back on the relationship they had and how this person brought out the best in them. They were happy and content. They know they had a connection and that this persons feelings were sincere but they still left and hurt them and they can't help but question why they did it. All they want is to be loved.

    This isn’t about suicide, it’s about their break up. Him saying how he misses her. He also said in a interview that it was him lifting a weight off his shoulders because he was feeling sorry for himself.

    there lover committed suicide, hence the lyrics, hinting they're dead. "take my body" and "when you said your last goodbye" I believe this lyric was how someone who will commit suicide will say goodbye to the ones they loved most.Also "I died a little bit inside" that's my reasoning. Maybe I am biased, or maybe I understand it best because I want to as well, possibly I am looking to deep or just enough.Its extremely painful to lose someone to suicide, my father almost died from a suicide attempt, because his brother committed suicide. It was extremely hard knowing this.

    I heard kodaline as I watched the TCM Remembers 2014, amazing song and video,then I look up the band and original video, I'll stick to listening to the song with the TCM video

    This is basically about a person who after a break up poored their emotions of how hurt they became. And the fact that they want the answer of why they broke them in such a bad way. All they want is someone that they can love again.

    In my life, this song is representative of my relationship with my best friend sometimes. She is deeply in love with her boyfriend and sometimes I feel left behind. However, this song only captures half of my feelings about the situation, the other half are that I know I will always love my best friend no matter what and I know that she loves me too. I want her to be the happiest person alive and if that is what this means then that is what it will be.
