Art Deco Lyrics

"Art Deco"

Club queen on the downtown scene
Prowling around at night
You're not mean, you're just born to be seen
Born to be wild
A little party never hurt no one, that's why it's alright
You want in but you just can't win
So you hang in...

MY OWN interpretation for the song is :
a person that take a lot of effort into their looks and wants people's attention and admiration they try so hard but they dont get what they want, lana sees them and feel their beauty despite their hidden insecurities this person also wants to keep a clean and an elegant image just like the art in that period but lana push them to party and have fun because that's alright and what make art art.

I personally view the song as a description of a girl, even though she said it s about a group of teenagers. I see it as a description as a girl who is being over the top and trying to impress, but not in an obnoxious way. Rather an issued individual that needs attention and love from others but she can t admit to that because she built a tough image of her own self inside of her brain. “You are not mean, you re just tryna be seen” shows exactly what i described until now. The rest of the song literally describes how beautiful this girl is and what a piece if art she seems to be but how broken she is on the inside, but still fights to charm everyone and hook up as much as possible.
This is my own interpretation though and i think it goes against what lana acc explained but idc because this is what the song means to me.
