Led Zeppelin: Thank You Meaning

Album cover for Thank You album cover

Thank You Lyrics

If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you
When mountains crumble to the sea
There will still be you and me

Kind a woman, I give you my all
Kind a woman, nothing more
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain
Tears of loves...

It was written for Robert Plant's wife.. as a show of his love for her..

As far as I'm aware this song was actually written about a young art student Jimmy Page had fallen in love with around this time. She was supposedly the big love of his life but things turned sour when he cheated on her with groupies. To Pagey it was meaningless but unlike most of the women who surrounded him at this time she didn't turn a blind eye to his cheating just because he was a rock star and she left him. He was reportedly devestated and ended up a addicted to drugs in the 70's due to his heartbreak.

I interpret this song as a man who is talking about him and his wife/girlfriend and how they walked the miles of life and made it through it together.
