Lord Huron: The Night We Met Meaning
Song Released: 2017
The Night We Met Lyrics
I am not the only traveler
Who has not repaid his debt
I've been searching for a trail to follow again
Take me back to the night we met
And then I can tell myself
What the hell I'm supposed to do
And then I can tell...

I think this song is about addiction..I think when he talks about repaying debt it means making amends with family or friends hurt along the way. And when he says I've had all of then most of you now none of you, he is talking about different drugs etc.. and telling himself not to ride along would be going along with everyone else. Take me back to the night we met is referring to the first night they used....
I've had an addiction in the past as well as some close friends maybe that is why I relate the song to that. I guess over all this song could be meant to touch and relate to many people on all different levels... GREAT SONG, I LOVE IT ! -
I think it means that now someone is gone, they can't stop thinking about the other and he just can't stop thinking about her and everything he encounters reminds him of her and he loved her. He wants to go to where everything was okay and good and perfect before everything went wrong and he doesn't know what to do because everything he sees reminds him of her

I think this song can mean so many different things. It just depends on the person. I've recently lost my ex husband whom I had three children with so this song relates to that for me, but also I've lost someone whom I've been in a long time relationship and thought of them. Break ups and death are both hard. They both come with so many regrets, mistakes and longing to go back and do things different. That's life though, all you can do is do your best to learn from mistakes. It's those mistakes and losses where we find the journey of our life's

I wish i could just go through the other to see what happened, to feel the pain, the joy of the night they met each other, the feeling of incompleteness after she left him... I wish...
-
This song is about remembering a relationship that went through ups and downs and when looking back he rather look at 'The night we met', which was a night of the good part of the relationship. He has been trying to forget why they broke up and move on, but the love for her is hard to forget.
-
The night they met was perfect. Magical now things r messed up and sad. Not the same. He wants another chance
-
Hyperboles.
-
I believe this song could be about losing someone to suicide and the young man stuggles.
-
i feel the song is about loosing someone close. " i had all and then most of you, some and now none of you" i feel its about gradually loosing someone and he had not done anything about it. "take me back to the night we met" meaning it was a special night and their relationship had gradually gone bad through time
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I believe this is about someone who longs to go back in time and relive his mistakes and change them. "I struggle to find the trail", means that he wants to find the time and place they met. This is a song about regret and a want to relive his life. The speaker is a young male and the theme is you can't go back in time so don't make mistakes now so you won't regret it later.
