I think that this song is about Lorde thinking about her past lover, reminiscing over all the magical things they did together. For example the lines;

"make you crazy over my touch
but its just a supercut of us"

she is looking back on fond memories of each other however reminds herself that its over and these are just memories after all.

"all the moments I play in the dark
we were wild and fluorescent come home to my heart"
she wishes him to come back, she misses him

Slowly she realises that maybe the relationship wasnt as good as it seemed, and that the good parts werent the majority.
