Madds Buckley: Reach Meaning
Reach Lyrics
-
I believe this song is about someone who wants recognition for their achievements. The person seems to always be trying their best but is always in the shadow of someone who does it better. This also talks about how others call it a “misplaced dream”, “Jealousy”, “arrogance or senseless stress” basically saying that wanting to be better than someone already better than you is stupid and that you just want to be on top. I very much relate to this song because in elementary school I was the best in everything but once I moved to a different school district in middle school my grades were low and I wasn’t the best as hard as I tried I kept getting C’s and all the kids who were naturally smart surpassed me easily and I wanted so bad to be at the top.
The person who it talks about just wants their turn to be in the spotlight.
