Meshuggah: Bleed Meaning
Bleed Lyrics
Thrusts of pain increasingly engaged
Sensory receptors succumb
I am no one now -- agony
My crimson liquid so frantically spilled
- the ruby fluid of life unleashed
Ripples ascend to the surface of my...

It almost feels like nonconformity vs conformity and that no matter how much you feel like you aren't going along with social norms, you will in the end bow and conform to someone's will whether you are conscience of it or not. No matter how much you act out or scream in protest you are conforming to someone else's will.

I felt it was about a dude havin to pay a price for something. as the song progresses he loses his own self and becomes empty.

To me, the music video looks like the guy is on Heroin and having an overdose since the clock is ticking, he's going insane as he watches a bug die slowly. He's battling with some kind of chained demon, which could be a symbol for the drug leading him to an early, dark grave. He reaches into a weird red hole, then the white badass with lots of arms smiles. He is brought before a woman threading string (A possible sister of fate, since he gets bound in chains after she severs the red cord with a knife). Then, Capt. Awesome with his hands like Shiva has come into owning this new soul. The guy who OD'ed is cursing him and yelling at him; denying a fate he himself chose, a road much darker than he envisioned, then the white guy with the arms opens his eyes, instantly stopping the pissed off protagonist in his tracks and converting his soul into that of the demonic entity that visited him during his heroin (guessing its heroin) overdose. At the end of the song, he takes his place beside the demon in front of this elevated platform where this guy with many arms sits. I have a theory that this white guy with many arms is actually the demon prince Baphomet due to the position of his arms, and how the dark arm is pointing down much like Baphomet's arms are positioned. (Take for example the new Baphomet statue being erected in one of the state capitals by that Satanic Church)
Another compelling read is what Wikipedia has to say about Baphomet in relation to this mysterious male figure in the end of the music video, which must be taken into consideration when reviewing the lyrics, and I have found the following:
"The goat on the frontispiece carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, with one point at the top, a symbol of light, his two hands forming the sign of occultism, the one pointing up to the white moon of Chesed, the other pointing down to the black one of Geburah. This sign expresses the perfect harmony of mercy with justice. His one arm is female, the other male like the ones of the androgyne of Khunrath, the attributes of which we had to unite with those of our goat because he is one and the same symbol. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter, as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it. The beast's head expresses the horror of the sinner, whose materially acting, solely responsible part has to bear the punishment exclusively; because the soul is insensitive according to its nature and can only suffer when it materializes. The rod standing instead of genitals symbolizes eternal life, the body covered with scales the water, the semi-circle above it the atmosphere, the feathers following above the volatile. Humanity is represented by the two breasts and the androgyne arms of this sphinx of the occult sciences."
Just reading the passage causes some distinctly abstract similarities to the video, though it isn't by any means a mirror image Baphomet, I do believe the band was influenced by this concept. -
Actually, Tomas Haake said in an interview that this song is simply about someone having an aneurysm.

I think it is about people forcing other to do things. Quote "Heed it commands, heed my will. Bleed it says, bleed you will"
It could very well be about society and that is probably the most probable meaning of this song-What else would they be singing about?? -
I think it's about society almost punishing people who aren't the accepted norm, outsiders - and forcing them to conform.
