#1 top rated interpretation:BJ is about lies and violation. It goes along with Dirty Diana and Wanna Be Startin Somethin. It is about being surrounded by liars and enablers and wanting to get away and escape by denying the lies--Billy Jean is NOT my lover. It is trying to tell the truth in the face of lies. This was true for MJ all his life. 'A lie becomes the truth'--that is, the lies told about MJ all his life.

#2 top rated interpretation:Straight from the king of pop's mouth, "There never was a real Billie Jean. The girl in the song is a composite of people my brothers have been plagued with over the years. I could never understand how these girls could say they were carrying someone's child when it wasn't true." - Michael Jackson, Moon Walk

#3 top rated interpretation:i think the song is about a guy who cheated onn his girlfriend and had a baby with her but is denying it.
"She told my baby we'd danced 'till three
Then she looked at me
Then showed a photo of a baby cryin'
His eyes were like mine
Come on dance on the floor in the round, baby"
this to me is the proof. billie jean told his girlfriend they "danced" until 3, meaning sex. and showed a picture of the baby who is his bcuz his eyes. just my opinion.. -
Michael Jackson's mother and 'people' had warned him to be cautious about whom he loved and to be careful with his actions, advising him not to break young girls' hearts. In 1982, he encountered Miki Howard, aka Billie Jean, who possessed a breathtaking beauty akin to that of a beauty queen, captivating every man's attention and inspiring dreams of being with her. With an enchanting aroma of sweet perfume, she approached him, extending an invitation to her room, and confidently proclaimed herself as "the one". They spend the night together and had sex until 3. One fateful day, she confronted him, stating, "You know what you did," and disclosed that he was the father of her newborn child, whom she had named Brandon. To validate her claim, she presented Michael with a photograph of the baby, showcasing eyes resembling his own. Overwhelmed by the revelation, Michael questioned whether the child could indeed be his. However, he was unprepared for the responsibilities of fatherhood and adamantly denied her allegations, inadvertently shattering her heart, which caused a scene. Determined to defend himself, Michael insisted that Billie Jean was merely a girl making false claims, asserting that her child was his son.

Billie jean is about being so obssed about something that you act or talk without thinking, only to regret it too late.

Billie Jean is a multi layered song in meaning. However at its deepest part....Billie Jean is a metaphor for the Billionaire Legion that run the world.
-
Billie Jean was a slut. She had sex with Michael and got pregnant. She's saying it's his, but Michael is saying no, even though he knows it's his.
-
Maybe one night Michael was out walking around a city, and he hooked up with a prostitute in a hotel room. The prostitutes name was Billie Jean. She got pregnant by Michael and kept harassing him. Eventually, Billie got an abortion and kept bugging Michael the rest of his life.
-
Maybe this song is about a teenage girl who wanted to get famous, so she got pregnant and said that Michael Jackson raped her. So then they got into this whole court thing until the baby was born and they did a DNA test to prove the baby wasn't his. Or, the girl was smart and got an abortion to destroy the facts and throw Michael in jail, then get a huge amount of money.
-
I think this is a modified story. Billie Jean was real in the way she was mentaly ill and says that the baby was Mike's, but I think he took it to a new level. I think Billie Jean was this girl who was desperate for money, so she got pregnant by some other guy and said that the baby was Michael's so she could get a chunk of his money.
-
He is basically addressing the fact that Billie jean isn't his lover and basically the sanario of what happened to make people think that she was
-
Michael "bIllie Jean" is about a girl that was mentally ill.she lived next door to the Jackson's in California .she would come over to see the boys.which one she liked is not noted.she would come see them perform.she was obsessive but with all of them.she was in love with michael moe than the others.she had twins- now this is where it gets bizarre - according to Quincy jones the twins were identical yes identical- and michael was the father of one of them and one of the other brothers were the father of the second identical twin whether or not he was a virgin is irrevelant she was scorned and made trouble for him she had been in a mental institution before no other mention was ever made of her - note the song "dirty Diana" was said by some to be a reference to her

I think that the song Billie Jean could be real or fake. The only people who know are the people who work with/for Michael Jackson or Michael himself. Or maybe Michael meant to keep it this way. A mystery for everyone to talk about. I think Michael Jackson is... was a great performer and Billie Jean may really be out there somewhere.
