Michelle Branch: Everywhere Meaning
Song Released: 2001
Everywhere Lyrics
The part of you that's drifting over me
And when I wake you're, you're never there
But when I sleep you're, you're everywhere
You're everywhere
Just tell me how I got this far
Just tell me why you're...

Every time I listen to this song I remember my sister who passed. She was my best friend. When I close my eyes I see her everywhere but when I open them she's not there physically. So I love this song although it's probably not of relevance.

"Everywhere" is about a girl's love obsession over a guy. She sees and feels the guy in her dreams loving her as she loves him. But when she wakes she realizes it is just a fantasy. The girl wishes she wasn't so obsessed with the guy because he is taking over all her thoughts and she can't think. It is painful for her to live in her fantasy while in real life, the guy doesn't seem to understand how much she loves him. The girl doesn't know how she got this far, all she knows is him. In her fantasy, she feels alive and not alone, but waking up in the morning, she feels the water ("I sense it now the water's getting deep.) is rising and it feels like it's drowning her trying to wash away the pain of reality-where he doesn't feel the same way towards her. He is everywhere in her- her breath and in every image she sees. She wants him to see her and feel her as she does him. The girl says she feels him take her hand and guide her to light and everywhere she goes the light he brought will always be with her.
