Song Released: 2003
It's My Life Lyrics
In love with you
If I could buy my reasoning
I'd pay to lose
One half won't do
I've asked myself
How much do you
Commit yourself?
It's my life
Don't you forget
It's my life
It never ends (It never...

#1 top rated interpretation:The lyrics of "It's My Life" by Gwen Stefani are pretty simple to understand.
A girl is surprised that she has fallen in love with a guy. She isn't sure how much he commits himself. She knows its her life and there are choices she must make to see if this is really love. She says that she seems blinded by her love for him, she sometimes forgets about the times she's been betrayed. She realizes that she can't let the influence of the crowd "caught in the crowd" influence her decisions about whether the love is real or not. -
Are the rest of you joking or something? The song's a manifesto for a completely different person, there's nothing here from No Doubt lmao

I feel like it's about the absolute freedom. She can do whatever she wants whether anyone likes it or not. She doesn't care about right or wrong. It's her life.
That doesn't mean you can kill other people because it's your life but sometimes others suck on you like vampires and you're scared to fight back or do something. Well, do something. It's your life. -
She is looking for justice on how she is judged by her relationships. She killed them for different reasons.. she only cried about the innocent fan. Her reason for the court is its her life and they were trying to control it. She was condemned tho and the men she killed may have orchestrated it.
I believe she displaying a cycle or dynamic between her and her audience or the world that is viewing her. While it is about love and her killing her relationships, the freedom to what she wants, wanting to be committed to insanity even. Her relationship with these men is her relationship with the crowd she's caught in. One relationship the business man who commands her she attacks with poison. The boyfriend she enjoyed crushing when he was in the right position and the random who she killed on a whim any way she wanted. Each resembling different levels of people in her crowd. She wants them to remember it's her life and she can choose to be as wild as she wants.. because she's more than just a girl. She throws the book out in court. She controls her view and transfers from place to place based on her relationships. Fighting even though it's useless against a system she portrays as ignorant (eyebrows of cop). It's her lofe.. she's going to do what she wants.. she will kill you with her music.. you'll kill her by watching it. It doesn't end because the crowd remembers her. -

Whether “we” realize it or not, we all wrote these lyrics, because we’re all merely fragmented versions of the same singular conscious being.
“It’s funny how I find myself in love with you”
-References the ironic nature of love, hate, etc., due to any form of duality being the construct of the one conscious being.
“If I could buy my reasoning, I’d pay to lose. One half won’t do.”
-Imagine yourself as the singular conscious being you are; or “God” if you prefer. You can, and do absolutely anything imaginable; pure untethered creation. Yet everything you do is only possible within your own conscious reality. Meaning even though you may be God, you can’t know anything outside your realm of existence. You know absolutely everything within your reality because it has all been created by yourself. The only unknown is any aspect about the creation of your own existence. You might as well consider yourself as a light switch that was turned on and can’t be turned off. So the option to “buy your reasoning of existence” is moot if it doesn’t also come with the ability to turn yourself off. Infinite creation in infinite realities leads you to crave the only thing you’re unable to achieve; Non-existene.

A lot of songs talk about toxic relationships. This one is great though because you never let a current relationship take over your life. Love yourself before loving others.

I feel is like she fell in love with a man and he and his friends joined in to hurt her .. She thinks she killed them but it wasn't..she is saying its my life .. And In courts she gotta had a reason to kill Thee man but nobody its caring about her just her victims..
-
I feel like this song means that she fell in love with a man and she questions how much he committed himself and she kills him. So she starts going on a killing spree
-
the song is about like she is with a man and kill him and go to next and she relaized like that is her life and she dont want to do it anymore

She is in love with thought of being in love. She is insatiable. Once she has had/or gets all she needs/wants from the man/relationship, she is done with it and the man and moves on to the next one. But, by doing so she jeopardize's her freedoms in life and her reputation.

These lyrics aren't by Gwen Stefani. The song was written by Mark Hollis and Tim Friese-Greene of Talk Talk. No Doubt covered the tune in 2003.
