Olivia Newton-John: Let Me Be There Meaning
Song Released: 1973
Let Me Be There Lyrics
-
My husband loves ONJ! I'm So So with her songs, not a country music fan. But this song was playing and I don't usually look for meanings of songs often, but I did wonder about this song, Let Me be There. I couldn't find many interpretations, pretty much the few I did find were all similar. Either about a friend of lover, saying she wants to be there and help morning through night.
BUT one line popped out to me. Well actually a few lines...
1. Let me make whatever's wrong and make it right.
2.Watching you grow and going
Through the changes in your life...
For me, and this of course is my personal intretation, no one needs to agree with me, but it seems the singer is singing to her child who has grown up and she wants to still be there, as a guide to help, as a friend and let them know she will always be there for them no matter what.
Kind of cool I think. Positive reinforcement for the singer's loved one. Whatever their relationship is!
