Olivia Rodrigo: Favorite Crime Meaning
Song Released: 2021
Favorite Crime Lyrics
I let you treat me like that
I was your willing accomplice, honey
And I watched as you fled the scene
Doe-eyed as you buried me
One heart broke, four hands bloody
Those things I did
Just so I could call you...

Twilight's interpretation of "Favorite crime" by Olivia Rodrigo.
This song is about a large age gap relationship. The perspective is on the younger person is the two. Meaning they are the minor. From their perspective, they felt used by the older person in the relationship and were taken advantage of due to their developing brain.
They loved the person so bad that they were willing to get away with anything. Bad or not, it didn't matter. Because they were in a roller coaster of excitement and lust.
It speaks of a typical groomer isolating their victim. The victims defended them against her friends because she felt love.
Or so that's what she thought.
"Cause baby, you were mine", it highlights the fact that the person singing is wondering if the groomer felt the same way she did. They may have done bad things, crossed a few boundaries, and played with fire.. but it meant something to her. That's why it was her "favorite crime".
