Patrick Stump: Coast Meaning
Coast Lyrics
it's gonna work out
give it a minute, it's gonna turn around
so just coast with me
maybe i'm too old to be so hopeful
maybe i'm too young to be so bitter
but i swallowed adolescence by the chokeful
and came away...

I believe this song is about persevering through the tough things in life. "just give it a minute it's gonna turn around" is about waiting out the storm and letting the clouds pass, because after every rainstorm there's a rainbow.
Patrick has also said before that 99% of soul punk was based off of depression, and I think this song is about his breakthrough, of realizing that, even if things seem horrible and unfixable, there will always be something good afterwards. Once you hit rock bottom, All you can do is go up.
Also, in a fall out boy song "Saturday" from Take This To Your Grave, the song says "coasting on potential towards a wall at a hundred miles per hour" which I thing "Coast" was referencing.
