The song conveys the playfulness of a married couple when in their room together for the night. The husband waits patiently for her to finish reading another chapter while he waits nestled in the quilted down comforter made of the Eiderduck, a very luxurious source of down. His patience is tested and he is awakened by the sound of her having dropped her book as she fell asleep reading. Her promise broken again, he locks the door to delay her escape and after tucking her head thoroughly under the fluffy covers and expresses his dissatisfaction with a series of farts until she wakes and attempts to flee the room.
