Pink Floyd: In The Flesh Meaning
In The Flesh Lyrics
So ya
Thought ya
Might like to go to the show
To feel the warm thrill of confusion and
That space cadet glow
Tell me is something eluding you sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?
If you wanna find out what's behind...

It's about the separation of the Audience and the band, Waters is a bit of a Megalomaniac, and he showed up with the material and was just a jerk to the other guys, and the Wall, and the final cut, is about his father dying in the war, and the effects it had on his life, his whole trip was just like saying that he could put a wall up and it would make no difference to the audience that he thought or forgot that people go to concerts to see as well as hear the band, and going to the wall show confused people more than anything else, He actually spit on afan and don't get me wrong, it was a great album, and Gilmore was at the top of the game, but I just thought it was great when the one song that he got to do on the final cut, was a total slap in the face of the otherwise Solo album, and they kicked him to the curb afterwards

Pink is alone in his hotel room, before he daydreams of being at a concert singing to his fans.

This is the part of the album in which the central character 'Pink Floyd' performs a concert whilst on the LSD trip he is on throughout the album. During this concert he sees himself as being similar to a fascist Nazi-like dictator as all his fans listen to his views in a similar fashion. He goes through the audience and singles out people from all kinds of groups e.g 'Are there any queers in the theater tonight?','Coon','There's one smoking a joint and another with spots'.
