Hey There Delilah Lyrics

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York City?
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Time Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear it's true

Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the...

Umm whoever wrote it about being an internet song has some serious interpretation issues. Obviously they haven't been to MoMA. Try interpreting something there because no matter how you interpret its right. Once you've gotten good try coming back and correcting your post. I completely agree with the person before me. Yes, they want to keep their love strong, but its not like they met over the internet. No one writes a love song about someone they met over the internet except Bob Ricci, and that was in the comedy genre. I write music so sorry I had to dog you out like that but you really need to think about stuff before you go and say something like that.

My mom watched an interview with the lead singer of Plain White T's himself and he said that he wrote this song because he met a girl in NYC and he promised her he would write a song about her. From the song you can tell that they were obviously in love, but she's in school and he's doing his own thing with his music and they can't be together now but they will soon.

Ok so I think these are all right but I'm just wondering about the meeting on the internet thing cause.........that might actually make sense........how his friends make fun of him but he says that its ok cause they've never felt that way before..............so I don't know that may be right.

The lead singer of the plain white T's actually wrote this song about a girl named Delilah who he had only met once when hanging out with friends. Personally I think its kinda creepy to meet someone once and then write a love song about them. She thought so too.

Ok, Hey There Delilah is a song about a long distance relationship namely. The singer is trying to make it for himself and Delilah in the music world. In the meantime, Delilah is attending school in New York City. The singer is trying to tell Delilah that the couple will work out and that soon they will be together. He also wants Delilah to know that she's amazing.

The song is about a guy that met another girl on the internet.
    they live 1000 miles apart.
    they fall in love.

    i love this song.
    its amazing.

    although, I admit.
it loses a bit of its charm after you find out theyve never met. :/

    x

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Well, I guess that the girl went to college in New York, because "only two more years of school", and he's dying to see her.

I think this song is about a guy trying to make it in the music world and he had to leave his girlfriend to do it. He has to be away for a while but he's telling her to be strong and that they can make it work and that he'll take care of her by making music to pay the bills. This song is about his girlfriend and he's telling her how she amazes him.
