It's about a narcissist selling his soul to the devil. Jezebel is the demon who turns off their soul to empathy and compassion & train them to go soul hunting and destroy people with their empty vessels. Thus never attaining joy themselves. Maybe. Maybe not. Could be about her father based on other other songs directed to him. Not 100% on the who
-
The song was actually written about her father after he died. Her brother wrote the book and just used johnny as a character inspiration

The above 'interpretation' is completely wrong.
The book mentioned was written by Poe's brother AFTER the song 'Angry Johnny' came out.
On her second album, she has a song named 'Dear Johnny', and THIS song is about the mother's letters.
The only thing Poe has said about 'Angry Johnny' is that it was 'inspired' about the death of her father. Her parents divorced when she was 16, and her father died a few years later. -
who's johnny?
-
FACT, NOT INTERPRETATION:
The song is a musical representation of the letters Johnny's abusive mother sends to him during her stay in a mental institution. She had been put there after attempting to strangle Johnny.
This is all from the book "House Of Leaves", specifically The Whalestoe Letters.
