Rise Against: Roadside Meaning
Roadside Lyrics
With all these left over feelings of you;
'Cause I don't know
And tell me how I'm supposed to feel,
When all these nightmares become real;
'Cause I don't know
And I don't think you see the places inside...

He is clearly hurting but he is trying to get her to understand his hurt and understand that they didnt just know what to do it took time and then they found out.
-
The male has strong feeling for the female but the female doesnt have the same fellings and brakes up with him.The male doesnt know what to do.
-
I think this song is about a couple who has been together for a while however, suddenly the male suffers from depression or something similar and doesn't know how to sort out his life thus the left over feelings (could be good or bad) he has of the girl is whether or not he should stay with her (this could hurt her as he suffers with whatever) or end it so they can both heal from the ordeal. And it's like he's pleading to her to understand that they shouldnt be together "So leave me at the roadside,
And hang me up and down to dry"
"And I don't know how we woke up one day and somehow thought we knew
Exactly what we're supposed to do." and this means that all of a sudden they have both come to the conclusion to end it or not at the same time.
another meaning is that the female doesnt have the same feelings for the male does as he has for her however they both sing the same same lines and the use of "we" could mean that they are still in a relationship and facing an obstical together.
