Robbie Williams: Angels Meaning
Song Released: 1997
Angels Lyrics
Does an angel contemplate my fate
And do they know
The places where we go
When we´re grey and old
'Cos I´ve been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I¡¯m lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my...

This isn't really as wholesome as you think, it is an amazing song, mainly thanks to Guy Chambers. It's about a abortion/unborn child, in Ireland an unborn baby is said to be "born an Angel" Robbie coined the song from a drinking buddy in a pub , Ray Ferrner or somthin', who's girlfriend had lost her baby, it was stillborn. This is what I know for fact, Youtube it if in doubt!

It's about Robbie's Mom.. but I feel what he's wanting to say here is that the true love that he has been looking for throughout his life was present in family itself, his mom loved him unconditionally, and he was looking for such love outside in fantasies and ideal girls. He is in a bad state of mind after a break up and that's when his mom comes to rescue, and that's wen he realises that he's been looking for true love outside, when it was present right there with him and he couldn't see it earlier.

This song IS about Robbie Williams going into rehab, and his mum being there for him. Such a touching song.

No way in hell is this song about prostitutes... I can understand why you would think that but I know it's wrong.

Robbie Williams has said many times before that it's a song he wrote for his mum always being there for him through rehab and the break up of take that and helping him get on track.

As I understand it, this song talks about the false ideas we have of how perfect the ones we love are.
Often, rather than loving someone for themselves, we love our idea of who they are, making them seem better than they really are.
Robbie sings about the great things this woman does for him, but the repeated line "i'm loving Angels instead" indicates that the things she does are a fantasy, just like angels. He loves something false, and not the real woman.
A bit cynical maybe, but it's a great song!
