Scorpions - The Zoo Meaning

Song Released: 1980
The Zoo Lyrics
Another boring day
I leave it all behind me now
So many worlds away
I meet my girl, she's dressed to kill
And all we gonna do
Is walk around to catch the thrill
On streets we call the zoo
We eat the night,...
-
When I first heard this song it made me wonder if it was related to the movie Christiane F & heroin use/street life that was associated with Bahnof Zoo Station in Germany in the late 70s
-
I felt sex
I hear the thrill of the hunt
I feel the kill
I Enjoyed the Meal
Almost a prefect vampire song would work well in a stalking sound track -
All I know is it has to do with sex
-
42nd Street in NYC during the late 70's. There was a show on TV called The Deuce, it is about prostitutes, gays, pimps, disco bars open all night.
-
In german language the zoo sometimes stands for whorehouse or red light district.
-
It's like the guy in 2011 said, it's about the bands first trip to NY.
-
It's about one night stands.
-
Sounds like he's talking about living in skid row in the slums of some town.
-
Its about life in the world. He gets off work, goes out with his girl and sees society as animals. Thus he is living his life in a zoo.
-
About the band being in New York for the first time.
