Silverstein: My Heroine Meaning
Song Released: 2006
My Heroine Lyrics
The drugs begin to peak
A smile of joy arrives in me
But sedation changes to panic and nausea
And breath starts to shorten
And heartbeats pound softer
You won't try to save me!
You just want to hurt me and leave me desperate!
You...

"I wrote it. The lyrics mean a lot to me. It's about a situation I have been in where I was with someone and I couldn't move on even though I knew I was better off leaving them behind. I likened the relationship to a drug addicion, where even though you know it's terrible for you, you can't get away from it. When I say "you're my heroine", it means that I am envious almost that the person can have such a hold on me. It's a double meaning."

The song is how every you want to interpret it man, just let the music speak to you!
-
Honestly, I think this song is about a guy who is super depressed, and tries/thinks about killing himself. Then, this girl, "the heroine" comes along and saves him and teaches him feelings he's never knew he had, aka love. She cheats on him or whatever and he discovers that he's addicted to her and can't live without her. He tries to be strong and says he doesn't need her; " I will save myself!". I don't know if its right, but that's kind of what I got from this song.
-
This is arguable and just an idea but I think the song is about a girl who is trying to make the charecter in the song depressed witch is obvious but the part people don't catch is
In the song it says under your covers there's more torture than pleasure that's implying the girl doesn't want to hurt him but I think he's liens to him self and thinking that the girl is trying to teach him a lesson while what's really going on is her trying to get him down and depressed if that makes any sense. But anyway thanks for reading

(Interesting ^^^^) :).. i was in that kind of position at one point in my life. -
i think that it is someone who has addicted to drugs, and can't go away from it. he goes to the rehabilitation place, he fall in love with the nurse. but besides, he knows that she must be only laugh and humiliate when she saw him at that position. so he just suicide
-
This song's has double meaning......accordin 2 me.....addiction??????
Yeah!!jst as simple as love drug!!!!!! -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
It's like loving something you know isn't good for you, but like Heroin (the drug), you're addicted to them and can't stop going back. It's a metaphor and he's using a double meaning, comparing the one he loves to a powerful drug. He's addicted to her and can't move on because she has such a tight hold on him, whether it's on purpose or not.
-
well in my own opinion, yes, he was talking about his girlfriend. i think he fell in love with this girl, then she just left or broke his heart. but still he loves her so much that he wanted to forget her but he can't. because she is like a drug to him. like in twilight, edward said to bella that she was his personal brand of heroin.... he wanted to stopped from loving her be still can't resist her... double meaning....
-
This song seems to be about one of the band members being with someone that has f*cked him over a lot.. and when he says "your my heroine" its in a meaning like I need you as much as I need heroine.. like I don't need you and I don't need Heroine!!
-
Does anyone realise that heroine is a female hero?
-
Just so you know.... Heroin- is the drug. Heroine- Is the female hero. yes.. Its kinda a double meaning, due the fact it is sorta about an addiction the heroin. but actually it's about an addiction to a girlfriend. Shane was going through a lot when he wrote this song.
-
I think this song means that he's addicted to heroine but not just the drug but also a girl and that she is his heroine and she showed him a part of his heart that he has never seen..
-
i think this song is about a guy who is in love or thinks he is in love with someone who hurts him. maybe he is comparing the girl to heroine because he is addicted to her and can't get away. I also think that the song is ending up realizing he needs to get away.
