Untie You Lyrics

Speak in tongues, I tried
To write down things you say
Wait there and, untie you
Untie you, oh-oh-oh-oh
Suffocated under daggers of emotions
I will try to understand
But I don't wanna know
Down and out
Sirens loud, that
Awful sound,...

I think this about someone hanging themselves who has a history of attempts and mental illness.

    Speak in tongues, I tried
To write down things you say (someone trying to understand the person's mania)
Wait there and, untie you (I've seen this written as weight barring" before as well; maybe where the person is hanging)
Untie you, oh-oh-oh-oh (untying person who was hanging)
    Suffocated under daggers of emotions
    I will try to understand
But I don't wanna know (trying to understand why someone would kill themselves)
    Down and out
    Sirens loud, that
Awful sound (911 was called; the writer has probably had to make these calls before)

    Just my take!

I've always thought the song was sang from the perspective of a serial killer. They've tied the person up, they're holding them captive. Maybe doing some satanic ritual on them "speak in tongues I try to write down things you say." When she sings "don't you feel special, searches and vigils" it makes me think of how they have searches and vigils for a missing person. Often times a killer will somehow try to insert the self into the investigation. "Could I come find you? Would I feel sheepish?" The victim finally dies when they take a trip to heaven and check out the place. Funny how the victim is early for death and the killer is late. I feel like every lyric in this song could be applied to this situation.

I hear it as being about a person losing their innocence from an abusive relationship and reconsidering how the person spoke to them after separating themselves from the relationship and then them blaming themself for it because they don't really understand or want to understand.
