The End of the World Lyrics
Why does the sea rush to shore?
Don't they know it's the end of the world?
Cause you don't love me any more?
Why do the birds go on singing?
Why do the stars glow above?
Don't they know it's the end of the...

"Why does the sun going on shining" is the first line of the song. It is clear that whoever she loved was the the world to her. When that person said goodbye, meaning their breakup, shattered her world. When you're deeply in love with someone, you see them as a meaning of your existence. This means that if you were to end that relationship there should be closure of the entire world itself, but there's not since her heart keeps beating. She has to keep living in a world which shes confused by the continuation of existence. She is simply observing the world as it is after her end of the relationship. Clouded by the immense feeling that if someone else is everything to you, the world should end if your relationship comes to an end.
