Summertime think it was June

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about young love and the freedom and carelessness that comes with it. In the song, the man reminisces about a girl he thought he would be with forever.

This song has again got into my head after just speaking to an ex the other day.
The ex who I haven't seen for 20 years now.
At the time I could tell that she felt the best for me but she never really know it.
We went with each other twice both only for 2 weeks.
We were only about 18 and 20 years old.
I still felt there was still more to offer but between us. -
The writer's intentions are largely immaterial to the listener - music is a consumer good.
When I first heard Dakota in 2005, everything was equally possible, unlikely, probable and unforseeable.
The future was the present and the present was everything. And then life stepped in, made a perfect plan and screwed it up.
Fourteen years later, for me it's about The One.
That got away.
And I still love it - and her - with a passion. -
Dakota song is very clear to interpret. For guys who likes this style of being carefree, please tell your random friend or random stranger to be careful with their legs because they might end up losing their legs and be sure when they are covering your eyes, the red signal is on and not the green light. Be sure when she jumps the bed she will not break herself. Enjoy guys! To each his own.

A one night encounter where she made him feel like she was his girl. Carefree rendezvous - Reminiscing about the amazing day and night in the room. He could never forget.

Its about the innocense of a feeling of love, as you lose yourself within a person or moment :) Good times and good rushes :)
