Swedish House Mafia: Don't You Worry Child Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Don't You Worry Child Lyrics
In a happy home, I was a king I had a gold throne
Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall
I hear the sounds from the places where I was born
[Chorus]
Up on the hill across...

#1 top rated interpretation:Hes seeking the protection and comforts when he was a child. As an adult he learns about the difficulties life brings. Once as a child he was a king, now as hes had heartbreak he no longer feels the same way. He seems to be holding on to the words his father gave him as a way to move on. His fathers words let him know when things go wrong move on. Gods got another plan for you. Everything happens for a reason.

#2 top rated interpretation:The 'Father' in the song I can imagine as God. As life gets harder and sad, it's as if God is saying, "Don't you worry, my child. Heaven's got a plan for you." The very tone of this song and the simplicity of the video seems to bring back memories of another time. Memories of a world far more real and beautiful than this one. "I hear the songs from the places were I was born." Those places are what people refer to as heaven.
I didn't care much for this song until a recent heartbreak when this song came through the speakers at the right time. It's amazing how God can speak to us and get our attention through songs. Love this song. Euphoria every time. -

#3 top rated interpretation:I feel it is about how he had a great life and a "happy home" then "up on a hill across a blue lake" his father is passing away while saying "don't you worry don't you worry child see heaven has a plan for you"[and that was a heart break]. Then later on in his life he meets a girl that he falls in love with. Then on the same "hill across a blue lake" they break up and he remembers his first heart break of when his father died ,and now this is just another heart break and he remember his father saying " don't you worry don't you worry heaven has a plan for you"
THE END !!!! :[ :[ :[ -
This song played right before my daughter passed in my arms, did not play again until l picked up her urn from the funeral home. All on the radio, really random. This song definitely will always be a song that brings instant emotions to my soul.

This is pretty far fetched, but I’ve always interpreted it as; a boy and girl were friends, they were out late, past when they were allowed. The father came to find them, but they were on a hill, surrounded by pretty weak ice. Since they were smaller, they could get across, but the dad couldn’t. So when he tried, he fell, obviously, but his last words to his son were: “don’t you worry child, heavens got a plan for you”. He had a wonderful relationship with his dad, and they lived without the boys mother, who was a bad parent (it doesn’t give me any fuel ideas of how), and when his dad died, he went to live with her, and life got hard. He lost sight of his friend, he feels the regret and pain of his father, and yadayda. The only hope he has, is the thing his father said to him, before he died. Hence the heartbreak with the hill and the blue lake, the girl, and how he was happy before, and I don’t know. It’s definitely not how it was intended, but it’s what I always thought of.

The fall of Satan. God told him he had a plan for him but he broke God's heart and met Eve a being of a different kind or he met sin. Lucifer wanted to be king and he was only second to God. He still hears the songs of heaven

This song relates to my life as a young child my life was happy for a short period of time but then I was taken from my parents me and my dad now have a close relationship and life is okay but this song brought me out of a real rough patch the lyrics " there was a time I used to look into my father's eyes" tells a story of someone who used to have a close relationship with his/her father but now does not.

This song follows a long long story and implies rebirth.
“There was a time, I used to look into my father's eyes”
Once we were more spiritually advanced and were connected to God.
“In a happy home, I was a king I had a golden throne”
The wisest of souls were the ancient leaders.
“Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall”
Their pictures on many an ancient wall and still visible.
“I hear the sounds from the places where I was born”
Places is plural. If they haven’t hinted at reincarnation enough already, this is it.
“Up on the hill across the blue lake, That's where I had my first heart break, I still remember how it all changed”
Magic was feared for thousands of years. These verses poetically imply the downfall of mankind into duality.
“My father said, Don't you worry, don't you worry child, See heaven's got a plan for you”
God saying that one day you will reap your rewards. There is a plan. There isn’t one particle in the universe I do not control. Don’t you worry child. -
What I think about this depressing song is i think the father left the boy or girl. Because the song said, "across the hill from out the blue lake is where is got my first heartbreak". So its about the father leaving his boy or girl with another woman. So disiponting.
-
Maybe everyone is over complicating it, maybe he thinks he has no meaning but his father knows differently then his father dies hence the memories on the wall
-
Maybe given this was the final release on their last tour, they were literally returning to the Fathers plan, heavens plan for them?? Whereever they are, i hope they have found peace.

This song gave me the
Strength to regain my faith,Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen -
guys don't just leave your personal ideas here. nor misuse the word of the Lord. have fear for what might happen to you for using the Lord's name in vain, especially for your own fame. pray to Him before saying anything, not by your own understanding, but thru His wisdom. for your comments might leave confusions to the readers, and might make them sidetracked on their faith. God Bless you all!

Certain its a God song. Revelation 2-4 "nevertheless I hold this against you, you have left your first love" which I believe relates to "first heartbreak". This could be because of his father dying or because of his drug use. Many people have turned away from God because of death. Also he is a 12 stepper who believe that behaviour behind drug use can block God (sin in other words (im a 12 stepper so it makes sense to me anyway)). Plus "dont you worry child heavens got a plan for you" could come from many scriptures. I like Jeremiah 28-11. Simply a wonderful song to listen to. I dont know if the shm are Christians, but I know they believe in God so I think its reasonably safe to assume its god ;)

I think this song is about a depressed child. In the end they are saying that we were born perfectly. That is focused towards the teens who are depressed and hate them selves. When they say heaven has a plan for you, they mean even if you committ suicide you still ahve a spot in heaven.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
