SYML: Where's My Love Meaning
Song Released: 2018
Where's My Love Lyrics
She hides away, like a ghost
Does she know that we bleed the same?
Don’t wanna cry but I break that way
Cold sheets, but where’s my love?
I am searching high, I’m searching low in the night
Does she know...

#2 top rated interpretation:I think the song is about their lover dying but their in denial and they’ve gone crazy thinking they’ve just run away.

The girl thinks she is beyond the point of return to a past relationship but she is wrong and it is not too late to get a chance to talk and see for herself that he still loves her.
-
It probably means that the woman he loved wanted to end her life because she was going through something hard, but she forgot that there was someone in her life who loved her and would help her. She is killing herself and her boyfriend because they are one. And if she bleeds herself, he is going to bleed the same. He cannot live without her because he wants her to come back home. And he says that if she's scared, he's going to come for her to save her.
-
Towards the beginning, “Chad” texted her several times, his last text reads he is “starting to worry, everything okay?” and before she drops her phone, she texts back “I’m sorry…”. Then proceeds to strip and walk towards the water. “Chad” can be a friend or lover or brother or X, Y, Z and is really irrelevant…but he definitely is someone who cares about her which she obviously knows with her apology. Why she decides to end her life, per the video, is left up for interpretation. But the fact remains mental health is a serious subject, especially with folks who decide death is better than life (excluding those who endure insurmountable pain, much like a family pet that needs mercy and euthanasia). A beautiful song though tragic for sure!

I always listen to the song and think that its the view of a dad who’s depressed teenager run away. The line “does she knows that we bleed the same” refers to the pain the teenager feels because she cant handle life and the pain the dad feels because he didn’t notice her suffering. What makes me strongly believe this theory is the line “If she ran away, if she ran away, come back home — Just come home”

Drug Addiction was the first thing that came to mind with this song. I remember going to look for my moms brother at night on many occasions. My mom has passed but my dad still goes to look for him to see if he's okay. He will show up time to time. As a family we all fear that there will come a day that he never shows up again.
This song evokes raw emotions of weaknessn strength, desperation, fear and much more. I appreciate reading everyone's interpretation. Thank you for allowing me to share. Love you all ;) -
this song seems to be about a friend/lover that passed away/went missing. here’s my thought process:
“Cold bones, yeah, that’s my love”
“Cold bones”: our bodies aren’t warm after passing, it’s a chilling cold feeling. it is a negative description of something: it isn’t “the warmth of the beaming sun on the beach”, it’s a direct, rich choice of words.
“my love” could be a term of endearment, OR what the emotion of love is
“She hides away, like a ghost”
“She” isn’t there, hence her “hiding”, but her spirit is around. Generally, when someone passes away, others feel a “presence” near them, especially if they were close to the person. Every small item traces back to the person, but they’re gone. It’s the constant loophole reminder that someone may be there.
“Ooh, does she know that we bleed the same?”
The author’s point of view in the song shows that they are/were struggling, just as the girl did. We are all one flesh, a reminder that we all have the same bodies, we all struggle, but “she” feels like an outsider.
“Ooh, don’t wanna cry, but I break that way”
The author has that strong wave of emotions, where you’re numb to anything you experienced in that moment. They can’t cry, and feel helpless.
“Cold sheets”
That shocking feel as each of your hands spread across an ice-cold bed. It’s been left alone in a cool room, with a slight breeze. Another great use of words.
“I am searching high, searching low, in the night”
The author has realized something has happened to the girl.
“Did she run away? Did she run away? I don't know”
Feels like that heartwrenching panic when you’ve been told about something you can do nothing about.
“If she ran away, if she ran away, come back home
Just come home”
No matter what happens to the girl, the author wishes she’d be safe.
“I got a fear, oh, in my blood
She was carried up into the clouds, high above”
The author worries the missing girl has passed away. “She was carried up into the clouds” hints that it would be peaceful, there’s a longing to that.
this song has so many layers to peel back on. it feels like a swift breeze through your window at midnight, while it’s heavily storming. (lyrics generated by google.)

It's about suicide. Its about loving someone that is suicidal or severely depressed and they either already died or are on the verge of attempting suicide possibly for a second time. If you ever loved someone that kinda I'll you know that panic and crushing suffocating pain in your chest feeling like you can't breathe, feeling like only death or that person can fill that black void growing in your soul carving an emptiness in the pit of your stomach. The kind that makes you scream endlessly into pillows and only that sensation gives you any semblance of release. That's what being without that person feels like; but for them, that's what everyday feels like. I live on both sides of that fence. My teen child is suicidal. As am I.
He's saying he doesn't need to know what she doesn't want to share... Just come back. He too feels as she does. But can't stand to think about life without. After I watched the video it kinda set this theory in concrete.

This song reminds me of my cat getting sick and I’m worried about her. I always wake up in the night looking for her.

i think this is about a lover running away, as she is hurting, from the man's perspective,
"we bleed the same" means, that they are hurting just the same. bleeding comes as a result of getting hurt badly by something. but then he reminds, we bleed the same, which means we both hurt just as badly.
"If you bled, I'll bleed the same" - his way of saying if you were hurt, i'll hurt too
"If you're scared, I'm on my way" - if something is causing you fear i'll come to save you
"Don't wanna cry but I break that way" - he doesn't want to cry, but he will break if he doesn't
i think the song is kind of self explanatory "cold sheets" - she's not there, "she hides away like a ghost" - not there.
TLDR He doesn't know where she is, but he wants her to know he will be there to save her from whatever she is experiencing that caused her to disappear. -
Personally this song is absolutely outstanding for starters, but how I hear the song is his how their lover had slowly faded away day by day out of their memories. The lover had left and they are scared that something may happen to them but also truly just want them to come back home safely with them. Their is a lot of confusing lines that may make you think differently about the song but this song has a powerful meaning of ever lasting love in a different way.
-
honestly, my interpretation differs from everyone else’s lol. i believe that in the song, their lover has gone missing, and nobody knows what happened to her. it’s like maybe she disappeared into thin air. he’s scared that maybe she got hurt, or kidnapped, or murdered/died. but he’s also worried that maybe she just ran away.
-
I feel like the person singing has a girlfriend and she feels like no one cares for her so she disappeared and he doesn't know where she went so he sings this song to try to make her feel like she's not alone, he might also be trying to hide how he's scared and worried about her. I feel like he's also trying to figure out why or what happened he keeps saying 'if' as if he' heard about all of this before and he has an idea what happened to her because she's mentioned things like running away or something.
-
Personally, I think this song is about their person leaving them, or abandoning them, so they're just waiting for them to come back, they don't know how they're doing but they just hope they come back. I am just interpreting these lyrics through my personal experience, I love my ex boyfriend, and I know he's not a girl but this song just reminds me of how he just left and just thinks I didn't love him. I don't know what I did wrong but honestly, I hope he comes back and realizes I did love him. I write songs about him every night.
-
I think it's about how she is scared and doesn't think anyone loves her, so she ‘runs away’ from her reality, but she has a boyfriend/partner who does care about her, and he’s really worried about her and starts trying to ‘look’ for her, in the sense he’s trying to tell her that she does matter. And there's a couple of lines in the song where he talks about how he’s worried that she’s up in the clouds, and I think that means he’s scared she killed herself. Then he’s trying to remind her that they both ‘bleed the same’.
-
I feel like the song is saying that there were many people in her life and she just gave up. She thought that nobody cared for her and she gave up. She might of thought that there was nothing for her ahead of her life so she just gave up. She thought that she just kept making mistakes so she thought everyone hated her? I don't know. That's my interpretation though.
