MakeDamnSure Lyrics

You've got this new head filled up with smoke
And I've got my veins all tangled close
To those jukebox bars you frequent
The safest place to hide

A long night spent with your most obvious weakness
You start shaking at the thought
You are...

I think this song is about a couple ...
he wants her sooo bad 2 be close...
but she either doesn't want 2 be in that relationship, or isn't ready 2 get close,
he gets mad, confused, and frustrated (I just want 2 break you down so badly=mad.... you got my head all filled w/ smoke= confused.... viens tangled close=frustration)
he doesn't understand y she is sooo distant, sooo he wants 2 hurt her for not loving him back or as much as he loves her

Its pretty easy to understand. Its about a relationship that goes wrong, and it ends pretty jagged. I think the whole song is him trying to scare her by saying "you won't ever get too far from me" and "im gonna make damn sure" and "..break you down so badly"... kind of like him getting his revenge on her for breaking up with him, rather then be submissive he has taken the agressive response and is trying to scare her, saying he still loves her but he doesn't plan to leave her alone.

I think that it's talking about the circle of life. The guy is afraid to go out and say his feelings so he wants to break her down to see if she really loves her because he's afraid.

First of all, there is no line that says "I bite my tongue, I take my time", so I don't know what song you're talking about there. Second of all, the line IS "scissor shaped across the bed", so one of the posters obviously doesn't have the CD.

Anyways, I'm not quite sure what this song is about. Parts of it sound like its a person who's in a relationship with someone they don't really wanna be with, and they seem distant. Other parts seem like he likes the person, like at "I trip over everything you say", or "You are everything I want, cause you are everything I'm not". I don't know, this song is one big question mark to me.

I think this song is about a guy who can't get over a girl...hence "head filled with smoke"
...anyway this guy doesn't want to let her go "you won't ever get to far from me"
    ..but idk

"you've got this new head filled up with smoke"

im just thinking this might mean he's cleared up his head, and this person has him all confused or his head "foggy" or "filled up with smoke"

"we lay, we lay together just not too close, too close"

that probably means that he is with someone that he shouldnt be with.

It actually says, "The shade across the bed, you are red, violent red."
You hollow out my hungry eyes

Not the scissor shape thing...but I don't know what this song is about...??

*Scissor shaped across the bed. You are red. Violet red. I bite my tongue. I take my time.*

That part is about giving oral sex to a female.

And, I think not wanting her "to ever get to far" means he really really likes it.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
