Taproot: Fractured (Everything I Said Was True) Meaning
Fractured (Everything I Said Was True) Lyrics
It's based on fact, but filled with lies
(you'd be rich if each was worth a dime)
I played my part and that's defined
You played the field on borrowed time
(and I know that fault was all but...

Would have to type out the entire song to explain why my opinions are what they are for this song as a whole.
A relationship gone wrong, in her mind her side of things are semi-accurate but in reality she's full of shit. He gives the impression that he didn't do anything wrong to end this relationship, she is just a horrible person and he chose to let her in his life and she blind sided him with the fact she never cared and he deserves an explanation now that its over.
He never thought of himself as "the right" one in all this, but chose to not even bother with all the wondering, although it comes off as she is telling people he was the problem and putting herself on a pedistool and he caught a lot of shit for that, like the end was going well for her and making him out to be a piece of shit and he couldn't/didn't - want/care to try and "get back" at her.
He has thoughts of trying to get back with her but decides against it, knowing who she is from what has happened thus far, and coming to realize he couldn't ever have loved this person. He expresses how sad it is for her to have planned this to get at him and she should be put in his shoes, and he just doesn't care anymore. Then basically just a big
t(-.-t)
to her (possibly she tried getting back with him somewhere in there and he decided to tell her to f* off?)
I just really like this song and it isn't exactly how I take it (I put it in relation to my own personal relationship issues) but as a general description of it, I don't think I did bad considering I just typed as I was reading it with no real thought in what I was typing out. Give your interpretations on this song and others, there are a lot of good songs from a lot of good bands missing on this site :)
