This song is all about just being crazy in love, and expressing it in a sing-song sort of way.

The guy is obviously half-crazed with the thought that this feeling might not last forever, so he feels that he needs to tell this girl that he is madly in love with her, in order for her to love him to her fullest, so she won't ever let him go. Undoubtedly, the man is in love. -

A classic song from the kinks, and whilst it doesn't have any theme of progression (in lyrics or musically) it's just a very fun song, and that's a big part of music, once you break it down to a mathematical formula, it's just not fun anymore
