The song itself is the comical story of an old fuddy-duddy scientist who falls in love with his beautiful Japanese lab assistant.
Englishmen of a certain age will get some of Dolby's jokes, while non-Englishmen won't. In many parts of the song, Dolby is doing a satirical impersonation of Magnus Pyke, an eccentric English biologist who used to appear on English television programs like "Don't Ask Me" and talk about science (to Americans... Magnus Pyke was like a zanier version of Bill Nye the Science Guy).
