Tool: Faaip De Oiad Meaning
Faaip De Oiad Lyrics
Um, OK, I'm a former employee of Area 51.
I, I was let go on a medical discharge about a week ago and,
and...
[chokes] I've kind of been running across the country.
Damn, I don't know where to start,...
-
The voice of god... maybe tool is trying to tell us something... just for the information...
There is an old theory that says that the gods we know since the beginning of our history are aliens... no precisely the little grays that we are used to think about when we think of aliens, but other races much more similar to us in appearance...
So maybe Tool is drawing attention to this point just wanting us to look around and question ourselves... There are lots of information on these theory that you might find on the internet...(the problem is to define what's true and real and what's not) and they all end up saying that the end is comming... for these gods want the humanity to be their slaves... Something like what the man on Faaip De Oiad was saying..
So... Think for yourself! and don't stop the searching of the truth...
you may find a lot of this in the books of Zecharia Sitchin
and webs like www.sott.net. There are lots and lots of interesting information on the subject. -
This skit is just getting the Art Bell clip out there ;) So you can think for yourself. And have a good laugh.
-
Faaip has to go first because 10,000days came out after Lateralus. So it doesn't make sense to put that first if Tool was trying to write a story. Imo WAY to much thought into this one but it is cool.

It could just possibly be a small miniseries of 'skits' within the albums. Seeing as the albums followed each other, perhaps there'll be another on the next. This can only be speculation but perhaps it follows the same person, after explaining what's going on (and think that he's kind of telling us how the end of human-kind will come about, which is the idea used in Rosetta stoned), he gets cut off by God knows what and finds himself in a hospital (I'd assume a legit one given the conversation between the nurse and doctor prior... like I said, mere speculation) :)
-
I thought of something, based on what the person above me said. You could listen to those 3 songs in this order:
1.Faaip De Oiad
2.Lost Keys
3.Rosetta Stoned
It starts out with Faaip, where the man calls in telling his story, but is cut off. He obviously knows a lot of information but wasn't given a full chance to explain it all.
After being cut off, it is possible that he men from Area 51 sent out their "Alien Lifeforms" or whatever to catch the man. They were successful, and took the man for testing. They then returned him to the people at Area 51.
Next, in Lost Keys, he is in a hospital, but still drugged. This is most likely a hospital linked to Area 51, but made to look like a regular public hospital. This way, the man feels safe when he comes to. When he finally comes to, he explains everything to the doctor, who is really working for Area 51.
This is basically what all of Rosetta Stoned is. Just the man explaining his experience to the doctor. This is where the story ends.
What probably happens afterwards, though, is that the doctor and his assistants convince him that everything was unreal, and never happened. They tell him he was just hallucinating and set him free, as if nothing ever happened.
That was a long theory lol, but it makes sense :P -
Ok, this may be just a crazy misunderstood opinion on the song but, me and my friend one day sat down and listened to all the Tool albums and we noticed something maybe a bit coincidential. Listen to Lost keys, Rosetta Stoned, and Faaip de Oiad in that order it almost seems to tell a story a guy tells doctors he was ubducted by aliens and then he sends a transmition saying people are out to get him. Maybe the doctors work for Area 51 and are trying to get him for what he knows about aliens. You can tell me I'm wrong but its just a thought

I have read this one so many times because it was one of the few songs that I could not put my finger on. I knew it had more to it than what was shown, and it is not literal. I really feel that it is metaphorical as all the rest, pretty much. I read it and it finally dawned on me. Have you ever seen the music video for "counting bodies like sheep to the rhythym of the war drums"?? well, think about a person that was once a part of this organization, let's say...Area 51...or maybe a part of that quicksand. Anyway, so then you get "medically discharged", as if there were something wrong with YOUR head. Notice how there is "[chokes]" right in the beginning. remember when Maynard says "I will choke until I swallow"=he will keep searching until he finds what he is looking for. ever heard of the expression, "choke on that or chew on that"? Anyway, this person all of a sudden has been running across the country, haha, do you think he means literally? haha. ok, so he is speaking about how he will be found by "them". He says "they" know about all of the disasters in this world, and how they could be doing something about it, but instead allow it. (watch the counting dead bodies like sheep music video) Maynard speaks in general, not of aliens literally. I do not have enough time to explain all the corruption in this world, so I will instead just hope that you are alive enough to know that on your own. "You're breathing so I guess your still alive, even if signs seem to tell me otherwise" --Kate

Well, no one has added an interpretation for this song so I'll be the first. As far as I know, the sample used in this song came from a american radio show called, The Art Bell show. A guy called up and said all that stuff, aparently they found out that satalite signal between the cell phone and the radio show was cut. ne ways, the guy calls back and claims that the whole thing was a hoax. So who knows what really happened. This could be connected to the whole interdimensional/extra dimensional theory along with the current reptillian theory. Area 51 is also associated obviously. Ne way, Faaip De Oiad, translates in Enochian as "The Voice Of God". Also it should be noted that there are some parts of the bible especially the revelation which could be interpereted as having relevence to certain current events, this may explain the latter part of the song.
