The Fault in Our Stars Lyrics
The weight
Of a simple human emotion
Weighs me down
More than the tank ever did
The pain
It's determined and demanding
To ache, but I'm okay...
[Chorus:]
And I don't want to let this go
I don't want to lose control
I...

I think it is about someone who is in a relationship that is starting to fall apart, but they don't want to end the relationship because they love the other person. In the song it talks about not giving up and this goes for the song because it tells the person not to give up on the other and to just stay, but it also goes for the book as well. It tells the characters in the book to also stay strong and fight back to their cancer.

its about the movie/book fault in our stars.two teens have different type of cancer and meet in a cancer support group.they fall in love and then they go on a trip and when they get back the boy starts to get sick he goes to ge a C.A.T. scan and the lights light which means cancer.a little later the boy dies and the girl and his friend have a hard time getting over it.the story ends with him saying "You don't get to choose if you get
hurt in this world but you do have
a say in who hurts you." -
I think if you read tFiOS it's pretty simple but if you haven't I'll sum it up.
Basically the person in the song loves someone so much it hurts and they don't ever want to lose their significant other but they know that it will, oneday, happen and they don't want to accept that fact. They just wanna lie outside and watch the stars.
