To me, his girlfriend is a metaphor for his gun. How living in the world (back in the day) is almost impossible without your gun. You can't trust anyone except your gun. Throughout the song it is layed out pretty vividly that he is referring to his gun. Pac had a creative way of writing.

Tupac was too skilled of a poet to write this just like the gun. The gun though not obvious is the bait he wants you to take, but the whole thing is a double entendre that does relate to a personal relationship with someone. This is one of the most prolific pieces of writing ever. It's beautiful. No one could say aggressively "finger fucking you" and evoke the passion, beauty, and love that he does...You can read the entire thing from both views, its masterful.

The song is a response to Nas's song "I gave you power". Nas jacked Pac's "All eyes on me" beat for "Street dreams" so Pac being Pac took his concept.

Pac's thug life made him devoted to the copper toped hollow pointed machine as a protective mechanism.

He is referring to his 9mm glock. Then glock made the model 22 in .40 cal. (New hot cartridge of its day and arguably the best) IF he says "doin 185 when we ride" this may mean the wieght of the most common .45 hollowpoints on the market. (185 gr. projectile) The Winchester Black Talon
