Wes Cook Band: I Stand For The Flag Meaning
Song Released: 2018
I Stand For The Flag Lyrics
a little tired
a little torn up
still hurting from the fight
then it hit me
you ain't gotta pick a side
you can love your fellow man
and still have pride
we are all stitched...
-
Shame on the West Cook Band for engaging in capitalistic opportunism to make money with this song by indeed "taking sides" and exacerbating the political and racial divide in our country over the use of the flag and what it stands for. Worse, the lyrics are simply not factual - there is no official document that says the flag "stand for us all" but rather the Pledge of Allegiance says: "And to the Republic for which it stand, one nation under God with liberty and justice for all." They must love the flag over the constitution which guarantees Free Speech. Their worship of the flag is and idolatry which is lousy patriotism and violates love of neighbor. And, these song boys never served in a war and never saw the flag "by the dawn's early light". They should donate all song profits to helping veterans and get off their self-serving political divisive bandwagon.
