    I think this song is about a soldier's life. Like how when he or she leaves his hometown, he or she knows that their town will always have their back. They feel safe when they are there, but when they leave ("time to play another show"), they will know that their town has got their back. So when they deploy, they just do what they do cause that's THEIR life.
