Thunderstruck Lyrics

Ahh, ahh, ahh, ahh
Ahh, ahh, ahh

Thunder, ahh

Thunder, ahh
Thunder, ahh
Thunder, ahh
Thunder, ahh
Thunder, thunder
Thunder, thunder

I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track (thunder)
I looked 'round
And I knew...

Angus got the idea for the intro riff when he was in a plane and it was struck by lightning, the riff ringing in his head pretty much. Lyric-wise, this song is about near death experiences and what goes on in a persons mind in what they think is the last moments of their lives

"Thunder" from the guns (artillery)= thunderstruck. The railroad tracks in reference to Ft. Sill OK, not too far from Texas... Home of the military's artillery school. Wonder if the band ever visited there....... Plane hit by lightning theory- wouldn't that make it "Lightning Struck"? Just curious...

Here's something from Angus himself, he said a small part of his plane was hit by lightning causing him to loose control. He said he nearly crashed into railroad tracks, and the whole time the opening riff was going through is head and he just expanded on it.

The song comes from a dream that Angus Young had one night. If you read any decent biography of the band it state this fact. A plane hit by lightning, you idiot.

It's an actual true song about one of the band members, I believe it was Angus or Malcolm and they were on the plane. And the plane got struck by lightning almost crashing. That was a terrifying moment for the band member so they wrote thunderstruck.
