Bastille: Bad Blood Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Bad Blood Lyrics
There was no where else to go
And you said you always had my back
Oh but how were we to know
That these are the things that bind us together, forever
And these little things define us forever,...

I think it's about a female and male who were very close and became lovers. Something goes wrong, and the girl can't cope with the situation. She starts seeing him when he's not there. It's unclear if the guy died by natural causes or if he was murdered by someone. She starts wearing his clothes, meaning she misses him, and starts eating rotten food, meaning her life is chaotic aand not working out. She can't get over the loss. The guy is asking her to let it go, forget about it and move on. "All this bad blood here, won't you let it die, It's been cold for years" meaning she's been depressed for years.
My second interpretation is that they were in love, but a conflict occured. They grew apart, and he wants her to forgive him, not bring it up (whatever happened), and get better... so they can have a relationship again.
My third interpretation is about a guy who is dating a girl who is depressed because her ex was murdered. The lyracist wants her to let go of what happened so they can be together in a healthy relationship.
My last interpretation is a guy who was with a girl, gained her trust, and betrayed in in some way. He did something really awful and wants to move on from that choice he made. The problem is, the girl is clinging to her resentment for him, and he just wants things back to normal for The both of them.
Amazingly Beautiful Song!!! Eerie and just as beautiful of a music video. Very fitting. <3 -
It seems she's killing or stabbing her boyfriend and left him alone. She is constantly being reminded about it so she is punishing herself ( displayed by eating rotten food ) and at the end she is facing TOO much pressure so she commits suicide so she doesn't go to jail

It's about old friends, who separated a long time ago because of differences, but now one of them realizes it's pointless to fight or hate each other, and is just telling the other that they need to let the past be the past, and get over all of it, and become friends again, because that's much easier than fighting.
