Beach Boys: Shut Down Meaning
-
Two bull dikes standing side by side: obviously it’s about two very fast and dangerous roller skate queens, such as the Bay Bombers or LA Thunderbirds.
-
The term 'short' in the Beach Boys tune Shut Down as in 'two cool shorts standing side by side" is dragspeak for short wheelbase. It is also the equivalent to "wheels" or "ride" in today's lingo when talking about someone's car.
-
Two cool shorts . . . . Fast cars (short trip; doesn't take much time to make the trip). Ck one of the Cheech & Chong movies where Cheech, I think, comments on someone's car as a "short" - the context obviously referring to the car being cool and fast.
