He's questioning the meaning of life (Come on baby do you, think it's good to feel, like you're lying here, swimming in memories) because of his mother, and the lines "I pray to God, that you're right before my eyes" seem to say he hopes there is a Heaven, and that he'll see his mum again. A sad, yet beautiful song. :)
