Heaven and Hell Lyrics

Sing me a song, you're a singer
Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil
The Devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you're a taker

So, it's on and on and on
It's Heaven and Hell
Oh, well, yeah

The lover of life's not a...

    There is a story about a king who wanted to know which of his advisors in court were trustworthy. He held a grand ball and invited them to come. Once there, on the way to the ball room, he made sure they passed through the treasury (golden halls) all but one stole coins and filled their pockets. When they got to the ball room, the king asked them to dance. Out of fear, the ones with coins in their pockets refused. Only one could dance. The only honest one was the dancer.

    So ...you have got to bleed for the dancer means you must care about honesty and integrity in this life. Just my take on it

    I have two major takeaways. 1. The song is warning against corrupt people that try to make you think that when you enrich them, you'll also get rich.
    (When you walk in golden halls, you'll get to keep the gold that falls)
    2. That giving yourself and others joy is the only truly worthy goal. (You've got to bleed for the dancer, etc.)

    Sing me a song you're a singer.
    Do me a wrong you're a bringer of evil.
    **what you are to other people defines a big part of who you really are.
    The devil is never a maker, the less that you give you are a taker.
    **which defines a big part of how you see yourself.
    The lover of life's not the sinner.
    **there is no eternal life, as being you, for the sinner.
    The ending is just a beginner.
    **Hell is real
    Closer you get to the meaning, the sooner you'll know that you are dreaming. On and on
    I can tell. Fool, fool.
    **He's already danced with the devil & so he can tell those who have and/or are. Fool, fool. Lol
    When you are fcking with the devil
    What seems to be real is allusion. When on the devils turf for every moment of truth there's confusion in life.
    Some say love is the answer but nobody bleeds for the dancer.
    **love of what? Love of continuing to commit a sin? Thats not why Christ bleed.
    They say life's a carousel
    ***has its ups and downs
    Spinning fast you got to ride it well
    **taking drugs
    The world is full & kings and queens that blind your eyes and steal your dreams
    Tough to explain but not everyone you see is running their own show. Many are under full control of the devil.Best explained by the next lines.
    Tell you back is really white, sun is just a moon at night and when you walk in golden halls you get to keep the hold that falls.
    *temptations, lies and illusions of the devil.
    Fool, fool.
    Look for the answer, YOU got to bleed for the dancer.
    **he understands how hell works.

    This song is like a Frost poem... you have to be very attentive.

    The defining chorus lines are:

    The lover of life's not the sinner;
    the ending is just a beginner;
    the closer you get to the meaning;
    the sooner you know that you're dreaming.

    These lines set out the rest of the song.

    1. If you take pleasure in life, you are not a sinner. We spend all our time making money on the "carousel" and put off things that are thought of to be sinful

    2. Have you ever spent time with elderly people? They will tell you often times that if they had to do it all over again, that they would have stopped to enjoy life in the present. And now, the person realizes this as a beginner. There is not much life left, and s/he finally sees it.

    3. The more an older person gets to the meaning of this in their lives, the closer they are to shed their mortal shell and be "dreaming."

    So the lesson is that you should not just go along with what people or yourself expects. Yes, work. Hard. But enjoy life without guilt.

    I don't know for sure if it is done knowingly or if the musicians are mearly being used as agents. But the reference to the dancer I have come to believe represents, as it has many times in rock and roll, not a dancer but a dan sir. Yes, shake your heads but the dancer is the lost tribe of dan. The same tribe whose place in heaven was given away! The same tribe also known as the children of the sea. The same tribe from which the anti Christ is suppose to emerge. Love can be seen as the answer but nobody bleeds for the dancer. Still have your doubts? All I can say be is you may be a lover but you ain't no dancer!

    In An Interview For VH1's "Heavy: The Story Of Metal", Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010) Stated That The Song Is About The Ability Of Each Human Being To Choose Between Doing Good And Doing Evil, Essentially That Each Person Has "Heaven And Hell" Inside Themselves.

    The song is about how in life people say and behave like they will treat you well and give you what you want if you give them what they want. Once they are made royalty and given power over what they want, they take your power and your freedom and make it theirs. The truth behind the song is that if you give anyone authority over yourself, you have doomed yourself. You are your own master, and if you make someone else your king or queen, they'll blind your eyes and steal your dreams. This song is about life.
