Black Sabbath: Neon Knights Meaning
Neon Knights Lyrics
Can't remember when we came so close to love before
Hold on, good things never last
Nothing's in the past, it always seems to come again
Again and again and again
Cry out to legions of the brave
Time again to...

Given Ronnie's pagan symbolism and use if the ancient pagan gesture for warding off evil,i would think that far from being something to be hijacked by desperate Christians seeking some identification of their beliefs within it ,the song would be valid within many religions and political ideals, depending on what you would define as evil.i identify personally with the mystic lyrics within "circles and rings, dragons and king, weaving a charm and a spelp, blessed by the night, holy and bright, called by the toll of the bell,as call from the Ancient Gods ,to take up the fight against the profit obsessed ,asset strippers, polluters, and the greed fuelled trash who seek to ascend the perceived "ladder" of wealth ,power, and influence, by treating others as mere convenient "rungs" upon which to tread to aid their ascent.

It reminds me of Warhammer 40k. Bloodied angels fast descending evokes either the Blood Angels directly or any of the Legiones Astartes, often simply called The Emperor's Angels.
Protectors of the realm again evokes the Imperium of Man. Captains at the helm across a sea of lights describes vessels sailing the stars.
Circles and rings, dragons and kings could easily be a reference to the foes that stand against the Imperium in the fortieth millenium. The line regarding the toll of the bell could be the Bell of Lost Souls on Terra, rung when the greatest heroes fall.
Doubt any of that is correct but it's what I see when I hear the song. -
To me the songs seems to tell a story of angels fighting demons in some holy war fighting for humanity. Neon knights obviously being the angels. It's time again for them to save us from the jackals of the streets. Cry out to legions of the brave meaning to pray to the angels to save humanity from being overtaken by evil. It seems fitting since this is the Heaven and Hell album.
