Blake Shelton: God Gave Me You Meaning
God Gave Me You Lyrics
I've made a mess of me
The person that I've been lately ain't who I wanna be but
You stayed here right beside me
and watched as the storm blows through
and I need you
'Cause God gave me you for the ups and...

The song's about a guy who's been a fool and hasn't done things right but god gave his lover and it makes him a better person for that.
-
the song is about jesus. when he says "could somehow fall for me. youll always be love's great martyr" "god gave me you for the ups and downs...for the days of doubt"
-
i believe that this song is about a single parent who when feels down looks at their child and know that God put them on this earth for a reason and that they will always be there for you as you will for them
-
The song, as a contemporary Christian song was written about the love of Jesus and the glory of God. Leave it up to a pop/country star to shift the focus to the love a woman, with nothing more than a nod to God for making it all possible.

Blake Shelton didn't mean anything by singing this. Seeing as he didn't write it. This isn't even the original. Check out David Barnes if you want to see the original. It's a Contemporary Christian song.

This song nails someone who suffers from bipolar or borderline personality disorder and has someone strong there for them and is able to withstand the up and down mood swings, the hurt, and self destruction...I could go line for line and every bit of this song would match the description... Great great song whatever the meaning of it is.

I believe blake shelton was singing about how he's happy to have found true love..............a love that can't and won't be broken and its all because of her she's stayed besides him through everything and he wants her to be there forever and through the tuff patches they've been threw or he's been threw she's been there right beside him
-
At first I, like most people, was thinking the song is about a very important woman in his life. But the more I thought about the lyrics, I'm led more to believe that is is about Jesus. I believe it to be about how God gave his one and only son for our sins. And how we receive salvation only through Jesus Christ.
-
well basically, he's saying i wouldn't have you if we didnt have god. god is the reason we met and the reason we are gonna stay "stiched together", or "undo".
