Bowling for Soup: Our Hometown Meaning
Our Hometown Lyrics
Especially the ones I had before the Grammy nominations in 2003
And all the girls from back in high school,
Who actually spoke to me,
Even though I was a fat kid and a marching band geek.
I hope this...
-
This song is simply a message to all of their friends that believed in them before they hit it big saying that they hope that they got somewhere in life and weren't stuck in their tiny hometown forever.
-
This song is basically a thank-you to anyone who ever supported the band before they got big and famous, and a big f**k you to everyone who didn't. It also displays the common sentiment of relief for getting out of a small, limited hometown that never truely accepted or appreciated them, and telling everyone else they left behind that they'd better get out of there too.
This is all pretty lighthearted, in the style of most Bowling for Soup songs.
