   I agree that he found the one for him. But it's not about the "Make it" you are referring. I think he is telling her he likes to do things in life and he wants to face life together with her. He wants to experience life with her. He knows life is hard but he is choosing her to help him face life and he knows they'll make it through together.
   Waves interpretation that I read today is somewhat similar with this song

   I have found the one for me. "Make it" refers to the 70's adage of having sex. After the sex, it is meant to last a life time together.
