Britney Spears: Piece of Me Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Piece of Me Lyrics
Don't matter if I step on the scene
Or sneak away to the Philippines
They're still gonna put pictures of my derriere in the magazine
You want a piece of me?
You want a piece of me...
I'm Miss bad...
-
She is warning her haters that she really does not care what they think.
-
In her past life, Britney Spears was a lemon cake. That's where she gets the title. PIECE OF ME. Geddit?
Anyway, she was a bad lemon cake that got pregnant by a cheesecake she didn't like. Then she started wearing slaggy clothes and saying bad words. she came back as a human version.
thanks. -
shes practically saying back off and get off my back !
-
I think the from the beginning of Piece of me, anyone would tell that it kinda gives off a 'bad asss' kind of feel.
Girls listen to it when they wanna feel tougher in a sense and.. if you're that kind of guy; then so do you.
"I'm miss american dream since i was seventeen don't matter if i step on the scene...
they still goin through pictures of my career in the magazine"
i feel this shows the individualism and the 'i really dgaf" feeling that britney gives off.
She's famous; she has a career.
therefore 'DONT MESS'
"I'm mrs lifestyles of the rich and famous"
"im mrs OMG that britney, SHAMELESS"
"im mrs she's too big now she's too thin"
This basically is her making fun and or complaining about how the public sees her.
show she don't care that they call her
"rich and famous" or "shameless".
she makes fun of people who keep trying to critic her weight and just makes fun of the media like that.
The whole songs basically just keeps repeating
"You wanna piece of me?"
showing her toughness
and basically >_0
is her telling the media that
1. She dgaf.
2. They needa stop trying to control her
3. They needa get a life
4. I'm tough; so bite me.
and as the same as almost all of the rest of her songs
she actually has a slightly hidden
complaint or CRY of help
of how she doesn't like being kinda..
like a 'plastic princess'
or doesn't want to be treated like just an icon that people look to and not a person.
I feel songs like
Slave 4 U, Gimme More, Lucky, OverProtected etc. also convey this cry for help.
